Women's Bowling Sits Eighth After Two Days of Mid-Winter Invitational

Maranda Pattison Named to All-Tournament Team

JONESBORO, Ark. – The top-ranked McKendree University women's bowling team sits in eighth place heading into the final day of the Mid-Winter Invitational presented by Kalmer Solutions hosted by Arkansas State University and held at the Hijinx Family Entertainment Center.
 
McKendree, who has posted a 6-4 record and a total pinfall of 10,132 and is averaging 202.6 per game through the first two days of the event, went 4-1 in Saturday's traditional play slate of games.
 
The Bearcats started Saturday's traditional games with a loss to ninth-ranked Youngstown State (966-1,008) in a position round game. Following the loss to YSU, the Bearcats would win its final four games as they earned a 966-881 win over Alabama A&M, before picking up a win No. 20 Lewis (1,025-993), a then a win over No. 19 Sacred Heart (1,138-900). The Bearcats would conclude the day with a win over Alabama State (1,017-811).
 
Junior Maranda Pattison (Redwood Valley, Calif./Ukiah Independent) was the top individual for the Bearcats in traditional play as she finished fourth overall to earn a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Pattison recorded a pinfall total of 1,140 in Saturday's five traditional games and averaged 228.0 per game and bowled over 200 in all five games with a high of 254 against Lewis.
 
In addition to Pattison, junior Rebecca Hagerman (Loves Park, Ill./Harlem) was 33rd among the individuals as she bowled all five games on Saturday and recorded a pinfall of 1,020 and averaged 204.0 per game and had three games over 200, including a high of 216 in the second game against Alabama A&M.
 
The third Bearcat to bowl in all five games on Saturday was senior Hope Gramly (Prosper, Texas/Prosper), who recorded a total pinfall of 970 and averaged 194.0 per game to finish in 43rd place overall. Gramly had two games of over 200, including a high of 223 in the fifth and final game against Alabama State.
 
No. 3 ranked Nebraska continues to hold the lead after two days the Huskers went 5-0 in traditional play and is now 9-1 for the tournament and has recorded a total pinfall of 10,847 and is averaging 216.9 per game, while No. 22 Wisconsin-Whitewater is second with a 7-3 overall record and has a total pinfall of 10,522 and is averaging 210.4 per game.
 
Lincoln Memorial's Cassidy Anschutz was the top individual finisher as she recorded a total pinfall of 1,193 and averaged 238.60 per game.
 
McKendree will conclude play in the three-day event beginning at 8:30 a.m. with three best-of-seven bracket-style games on Sunday, Feb. 20 against No. 19 Sacred Heart. The winner of that match will be guaranteed to finish no worse than sixth place.
