Men's Volleyball Falls in Three Sets at Home to Lincoln Memorial

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree men's volleyball fell 3-0 to Lincoln Memorial at the Melvin Price Convocation Center on Saturday afternoon to conclude the Lindenwood Invite. 

The Bearcats fall to 9-7 on the season while the Railsplitters improve to 10-6 on the season after the win. Lincoln Memorial won set one 25-23, followed by 25-19 set two win and a 25-22 set three win. 

Offensively, the Bearcats were led by graduate student outside hitter Patrick Ross (Anthem, Ariz./Boulder Creek) as he recorded a game-high 18 kills on a .389 hitting percentage. Graduate student outside hitter Ethan Carroll (Barrington, Ill./Barrington) and freshman outside hitter Kevin Schuele (Aurora, Ill./Saint Francis) each had nine kills. Ross added a service ace while Schuele recorded two serve aces. 

Defensively, the Bearcats were led by senior libero Francisco Comas (Naperville, Ill./Neuqua Valley) as he recorded a game-high 10 digs. Carroll recorded seven digs in the match while redshirt senior setter Ryan Serrano (Phoenix, Ariz./Boulder Creek) recorded five digs. 

Lincoln Memorial was led by Cole Campisano as he recorded a team-high 13 kills for the Railsplitters while Jacob Titus added 11 kills. Kohl Kutsch added 35 assists, three kills and eight digs for LMU. Matt Friddle added seven digs in the match. 

The Bearcats return to action on Thursday, March 17 in Romeoville, Ill. at Neil Carey Arena against Lewis University at 7 p.m. in the first match of a home and home series against Lewis as the Bearcats will host the Flyers next Saturday at the MPCC at 5 p.m.
