Men's Wrestling Halts Unbeaten Maryville, Up-Ends Drury in Weekend Wins

Bearcats take-out unbeaten Saints before posting dominant win over Panthers

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University men's wrestling (9-3, 4-0 GLVC) kept-up its winning streak with two Great Lakes Valley Conference dual victories on Friday and Saturday, beating undefeated Maryville, 18-14, on Friday and then defeating Drury, 30-7, on Saturday. The Bearcats held-off the Saints with a pair of bonus-point victories by redshirt junior 125 Christian Mejia (major decision) and sophomore 157 Noah Villarreal (pin). McKendree then beat Drury with four extra-point match wins, extending its winning streak to seven duals. The Bearcats head off to Indianapolis for the Greyhound Duals and Greyhound Open on February 4 and 5.

UP NEXT
McKendree men's wrestling faces off against Notre Dame College (Ohio), King, and Glenville State in the Greyhound Duals on February 4. The Bearcats then head into the Greyhound Open on February 5.

McKendree returns home for a GLVC dual against Davenport at MPCC on February 7 at 7PM. The dual was rescheduled from January 21.
