INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - No. 2 McKendree University men's swimming and diving was defeated by the reigning national champion and No.1-ranked University of Indianapolis by a score of 189-105. The dual meet loss is the first for the Bearcats since the 2021-22 season.
McKendree notched four first-place finishes in addition to nine second-place performances. Among the victories were two from senior Filipe Pinheiro in the 100 breaststroke (55.78) and 200 breaststroke (2:06.03). In the 200 freestyle, junior Leo Gandaria-Hernandez clocked a 1:41.37 for first place. Rounding out the victories was junior Jackson Lustig with a win in the 200 butterfly (1:48.82).
Coming up, McKendree will be back in the pool in a few weeks at the Purdue University Invitational on Nov. 16-18.
