PREVIEW: Football Hits the Road for the Final Time in 2023

LEBANON, Ill. – For the final time in the 2023 campaign, the Bearcats will hit the road as they head east to the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds.
Game Information Series History
McKendree is looking for its first win against the Greyhounds in eleven tries. Last year, the Bearcats fell to UIndy 38-23. If McKendree were to win, they will have the program's first four-game win streak since the 2017 season.

Scouting the Bearcats
McKendree improved to 3-5 (3-2 GLVC) and bring a three game win streak into the final road game at Indianapolis. After trailing 14-0 in the early stages of the first quarter, the Bearcats rallied to tie the game late in the opening quarter. They would also trail 31-21 at the half, but the defense stepped up and limited the Hawks to a field goal.

Quarterback Caleb Fisher completed 16 of his 26 passes for 217 yards and four touchdowns. On the season, he is 137 of 217 for 1,252 yards and 13 touchdowns. His two top targets have been Yogi Flager, Jr. and Brylan Apholone. Flager has caught 41 passes for 406 yards and five touchdowns. Apholone has 175 yards on 16 catches and three touchdowns. After carrying the ball 21 times for 90 yards, Eddie Clark has 107 carries for 412 yards and four touchdowns this year.

Scouting the Greyhounds
The University of Indianapolis Greyhounds enter this game with an unblemished record of 8-0 (5-0 GLVC) and currently sit ranked in number eight in the country. The defeated the Upper Iowa Peacocks last week by the score of 35-7. After charging out to a 21-0 lead in the first quarter, the Greyhounds cruised to the victory.

Quarterback Gavin Sukup finished the game going 24-for-35 and a season-high 332 yards with four touchdowns. On the season, Sukup is 139 of 213 for 1,939 yards and 21 touchdowns. Running back Jon Lewis leads the ground game with 123 carries for 674 yards and six touchdowns. Sukup's favorite targest has been Alonzo Derrick who has caught 21 passes for 414 yards and four touchdowns.
