ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - McKendree University baseball (0-3) dropped the finale of its season-opening road trip down to Arkansas to Henderson State (RV) on Sunday afternoon, 11-1. The Bearcats were unable to hold-back the Reddies' offensive fire power in the contest while struggling to find their own. McKendree is back on the road for its next weekend in Jolin, Missouri to take on Missouri Southern, Missouri Western State, and Northwest Missouri State on February 17-19.
Henderson State clicked immediately to begin the contest with a four-run first inning, holding a 4-0 lead through the first three innings of action.
The Bearcats grabbed their lone run in the fourth on a left field line solo shot by junior infielder
Noah Nelson. It marked his first homer in a McKendree uniform.
The Reddies fired off once again in the fourth with four more runs after the single Bearcat score, taking an 8-1 lead. HSU then added three in the seventh to cap-off the game at 11-1.
