INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Bearcats entered the GLVC Men's Tennis tournament as the 2 seed from the east division and began their postseason journey against the Drury University Panthers on Friday (Apr 21) afternoon.
McKendree clinched the doubles points thanks to wins by the duos of Benedek Szombathelyi and Leonardo Schmitz Frederico. The other pair who helped to clinch the doubles point was Lorenzo del Biondo and Ryan Fung.
The Bearcats got wins in the singles matches from Leonardo Schmitz Frederico (6-2, 6-4) and Lorenzo del Biondo (6-2, 6-1). The match point came down to a third set tiebreak in the final singles match between Nanase Ebisu and Mark Drozdetskii. Unfortunately, Drozdetskii won the match by the score of 3-6, 6-1, 6-2.
McKendree will now await their fate in the regional rankings on April 24th.
