LEBANON, Ill. – Week three sees the Bearcats hit the road for the 2
nd time in the 2023 season, this time with a trip north. Looking for win number one of the season, McKendree heads to Moorhead, Minnesota for a match up against the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragons out of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

For the second time this season, the Bearcats will be squaring off with a new team. The Dragons and Bearcats have never faced each other on the gridiron.
Scouting the Bearcats
After hosting nationally – ranked University of West Florida in week two for their home opener, McKendree will hope to get win number in week three against the Dragons. Led by
Mike Babcock in his 11
th season at the helm, they fell to UWF by the score of 35-3. The lone points came from the leg of
Ryan Kastl on a 48-yard field goal, which is his new career long.
Under center is
Caleb Fisher, who is 31 of 55 passing for 315 yards and two touchdowns. He has also thrown four interceptions.
Eddie Clark leads the ground game with 70 yards on 16 carries.
Fisher's favorite target has been Yogi Flager, Jr who has 16 catches for 152 yards and both of the touchdowns so far this season. Flager is the lone Bearcat wide out over the 150 yard mark.
Scouting the Dragons
The MSU Moorhead Dragons are 1-1 on the season so far, with a win last week against Minot State. They are led by Steve Laqua, who is in his 13
th season as the leader. This will be the only non-conference game on the schedule for the Dragons. So far, the Dragons are outscoring their opponents 79-45 and are averaging 397 yards per game.
They lead the NSIC in almost every passing category. Sophomore QB Jack Strand is 72 of 102 with one interception and has found the end zone eight times. His favorite receiver has been Gage Florence who has 24 catches for 146 yards. Brady Perryman leads the team with 4 touchdowns on 17 catches for 190 yards.
On the ground, Owen Wiersma has scored their lone rushing touchdown.
