MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bearcats traveled north for their week three game taking on the Minnesota State – Moorhead Dragons out of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference. MSU Moorhead came away with the victory by the score of 38-17.
The Dragons scored on an eight yard TD pass on their opening drive after McKendree went 3-and-out. The Bearcats were able to put together a decent drive that spanned nine plays, which ended in a Ryan Kastl 47-yard field goal. With just under three minutes left in the opening quarter, MSU Moorhead extended their lead out to 10-3 on 31-yard field goal.
The Dragons would proceed to score the next 28 points to make the score 38-3 early in the fourth quarter.
McKendree would find the end zone with eight minutes left in the contest as Caleb Fisher found Yogi Flager, Jr on a 20-yard touchdown pass that capped off a five play, 32 yard drive. The Bearcats would find the end zone once more with under a minute to go as Fisher found tight end Jordan Sprycha on a two yard pass to make it 38-17.
The Bearcats will have a bye week next, than they open up Great Lakes Valley Conference play on September 30th when the Truman State Bulldogs come to Leemon Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
