BOLIVAR, Mo – McKendree University men's tennis competed at GLVC opponent Southwest Baptist Invitational.
"We are pleased but not satisfied with our men's and women's results. Against top competition, we need to make a few mental and tactical adjustments if we want to achieve big things this year." said Coach René Vidal.
The A draw saw four Bearcats compete, sophomore Bendix Schröder, fifth year senior Lorenzo del Biondo, sophomore Luka Kalenic, junior Seb Holden, and sixth year senior Vishnu Prasad. Schröder advanced to the semifinals, Holden and Prasad both advanced to the quarterfinals, and Biondo and Kalenic competed in the round of 16.
In the B draw, Junior Charlie Sanzo, freshman Giacomo Valerga, and sophomore Aimar Oregui all advanced to the quarterfinals while Arhaan Pahwa competed in the round of 16.
Doubles for the A draw had the duo of Biondo and Holden as well as the pair of Prasad and Kalenic advance to the semifinals.
B draw doubles showed Pahwa and Oregui as well as the doublet of Schroeder and Valerga both advance to the semifinals.
The Bearcats are back in action at the ITA Midwest Regional Championship on Sept. 30- Oct. 2.
