LEBANON, Ill. – After a tough non-conference slate, the Bearcats open up GLVC play by hosting the Truman State University Bulldogs on Saturday, September 30
th.

New this year for the GLVC Sports Network is the conference has moved to a Pay-Per-View model for football, women's volleyball, men's and women's basketball. The game will cost $10. Viewers also have the option to buy an all-sport pass for $50 (volleyball) or $75 (football, men's basketball, women's basketball), and a full GLVC package for all four sports at $100.
Bearcats versus the GLVC and Truman State
The Bulldogs hold an 8-2 advantage in the all-time series between the two schools. Last year in Kirksville, Missouri, TSU won by the score of 52-7. Currently on a five game losing streak, McKendree is looking for its first win in the series since November of 2016 when they took the contest by the score of 41-14.
With conference play starting, McKendree holds an all-time record of 41-34 in GLVC play. The last time they finished with an above .500 record in conference play came in 2018, when they finished at 4-3.

With the his receiving touchdown against MSU-Moorhead, Yogi Flager, Jr now has 13 career receiving touchdowns which ties him with Jalyn Williams for 5th all-time. He also moved into the top 5 in receiving yards with 1,380. The redshirt junior has caught 101 career passes, which is good for 6th all-time, one behind Jalyn Williams.
Drew Crooks has moved into 4th for career pass break-ups.
Scouting the Bearcats
Last time out for the Bearcats (0-3), they took a trip north to Minnesota State – Moorhead on September 16
th. The Dragons took the game by the score of 38-17.
Caleb Fisher completed 30 of 47 passes for 228 yards and two touchdowns. Yogi Flager, Jr and
Jordan Sprycha caught the touchdown passes in the fourth quarter.
On the ground,
Eddie Clark is the leading rushing with 81 yards on 21 carries with an average of 27 yards per game. Fisher's favorite target has been Flager, Jr with 236 yards on 26 catches and three touchdowns.
Leading the defense in tackles has been
Andrew Sherry with 14 total (8 solo). He is also one of five Bearcats to record an interception.
Josh Bleich and
Trevon Stokes are leading the way with two tackles for loss each.
Scouting the Bulldogs
The Truman State Bulldogs come into the week 5 matchup with an unblemished record of 4-0 and are the top team receiving votes in the latest American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) poll. Last week they were on the road at Wayne State (Mich.) and won in convincing fashion as the final was 41-7. TSU lead 27-0 at the halftime break.
They were led by GLVC Offensive Player of the Week in junior running back Mason Huskey, who scored three touchdowns – two rushing and one receiving. He also recorded 115 yards on 14 carries and added 15 yards on two receptions. TSU kicker Grant Ross was named GLVC Special Teams Player of the Week as he converted on field goals from 38 and 26 yards. Ross also went a perfect 5-for-5 on point after attempts.
On the year, Huskey has 318 yards on 60 carries and five touchdowns. Quarterback Nolan Hair has completed 70% of his passes at 69 for 98 and 817 yards with five touchdowns. Hair's favorite target has been Tate Crane who has caught 21 passes for 248 yards and one touchdown.
