O'FALLON, Ill. - McKendree University defeated Washington University in St. Louis on Saturday afternoon, 178-102. The Bearcats won 12 events in the dual meet against the Bears.  

McKendree kicked off the meet with a win from junior Patryk Rozenek, senior Filipe Pinheiro, junior Jackson Lustig, and sophomore Tyson Upton in the 400 medley relay. Among those with two individual wins on the day were Lustig in the butterfly events, Pinheiro in the breaststroke events, Rozenek in the backstroke events, and freshman Christian Davidson in the freestyle distance events. Additionally, sophomore Xander McWhorter won both diving events. 

Sophomore Mario Perez Torrado secured the 50 freestyle victory while Upton took the win in the other freestyle spring, the 100 freestyle. Rounding out the wins for the day were junior Alireza Yavari, senior Caleb Law, Perez Torrado, and Upton in the 200 freestyle relay. 

McKendree is back at home next week on Friday, Jan. 19 in a dual meet against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. The Bearcats will celebrate Senior Day at this meet.
