LIBERTY, Mo. – The Bearcats (5-6, 4-4 GLVC) ended the 2024 season taking on the William Jewell College Cardinals in the northern Kansas City suburb. Battling a stiff 20 mile per hour wind all afternoon, the Cardinals came out with the win 45-14.
WJC got on the board first in the middle of the opening quarter with a 13 play, 70 yard drive ending in a 2 yard touchdown run. McKendree answered right back. Facing 4th down and five yards to go, Ty Michael hit Jaylen Ford on a slant route for the 45 yard touchdown to tie the contest at 7. The Cardinals converted on their next three drives to make it a 24-7 game. With time winding down in the first half, Eddie Clark found the end zone from 15 yards out to make it a 24-14 game at the half.
William Jewell added three scores in the third quarter to round out the scoring and make the game final.
Eddie Clark finished with 128 yards on the day, giving him the new program record for rushing yards in a single season with 1,151 yards.
