Women’s Basketball to Face UMSL on Saturday at Home

LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's basketball is set to play its third-to-last home game on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1 p.m. against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Saturday will serve as the Alumni Game for the season; alumni may RSVP their attendance at alumni@mckendree.edu.  

The Bearcats sport an 18-7 overall record and a 14-5 conference record, both of which are the highest number of wins for McKendree women's basketball since becoming a Division II program and joining the Great Lakes Valley Conference in 2013. McKendree ranks second in the conference in four team statistical categories including field goal percentage, three-point percentage, assist to turnover ratio, and blocked shots. In the Bearcats and Tritons' last two matchups, McKendree has come away with victories. 

McKendree faces a 12-13 UMSL team who also has a 10-9 GLVC record and is led by the top-scorer in the conference, guard Jalysa Stokes, who averages 18.8 points per game. The Tritons are first in defense for the GLVC, holding opponents to an average of 62.5 points per game.
