MARQUETTE, Mich. – Playing on the shores on the Lake Superior, the Bearcats battled the Northern Michigan University Wildcats on Sunday, February 25th in the Superior Dome. McKendree fell by the score of 17-5. 
After the Wildcats went up 4-0 in the first five minutes of the contest, Olivia Julian found the back of the net with 8:19 left in the opening stanza for her 6th of the season. NMU would score 6 unanswered goals to make it 10-1. Jenna Sugarman converted on her free-position shot to make it 10-2 for her 4th of the season. 
In the 2nd half, the Bearcats went on a mini scoring run starting with Lauren Fischer on a free-position at the 4:10 mark of the 3rd quarter. Two minutes later, Julian netted her second of the contest to make it a 13-4 game. With two seconds remaining in the quarter, Lexi Helms scored after picking up a ground ball for her second of the season.
The Wildcats capped off the scoring with four goals in the final quarter. 
They will open up the home portion of their schedule on Friday, March 1st when they host the Rockhurst University Hawks at 5:00 p.m.
