LEBANON, Ill. – With two games left in the regular season, the Bearcats will be hosting the Lewis University Flyers and the University of Indianapolis Greyhounds.
Game Happenings
On Thursday against the Flyers, the Bearcats will be hosting a black out. The first 100 students will receive a black McKendree University shirt. The athletic department will also be giving away a 32 inch TV, a Raising Canes basket, and more.
Before Saturday's game, the program will be honoring four seniors as a part of their senior day festivities. The seniors are Aleksandar Davitkov, Kyle Elmore, Carson Parker, and Daulton Burgner.
GLVC Point-Rating System
McKendree currently sits in the 8th and final spot for the GLVC tournament in the league's point-rating system. The top 8 teams after the completion of Saturday's games will qualify for the tournament in St. Charles, Missouri at Lindenwood University.
Scouting the Bearcats
McKendree enters the weekend with an overall record of 15-10 (9-9 GLVC). They are coming off the 81-69 loss last Saturday to the University of Missouri – St. Louis Tritons.
As they have been all year, they are led by Milos Vicentic who is also 2nd in the GLVC in scoring at 22 points per game. That is good for top 10 in Division II as well. Caleb Zurliene who is second in scoring for McKendree at 14.3 points per game sits 13 points shy of 1,000 in his collegiate career. The Aviston, Illinois native leads the conference in blocks and is top five in Division II.
The Bearcats are third in the nation with a field goal percentage of 51.5%.
Scouting the Flyers
The Flyers begin the last weekend of the regular season with a record of 15-11 (11-7 GLVC) and winners of their last two against Rockhurst (86-80) and William Jewell (84-70). In the newest Division II Regional Rankings, the Flyers sit in 8th in the Midwest.
Beau Frericks leads the Flyers in scoring at 16.4 points per game, while Gary Solomon is also averaging double figures at 12.1 per game.
They are shooting 48.6% from the field on the season.
Scouting the Greyhounds
Before finishing the season against McKendree, the Greyhounds will battle the University of Missouri – St. Louis Tritons on Thursday, February 29th. They bring a record of 19-7 (15-3 GLVC). The Greyhounds have won their previous four games and are ranked first in the latest Midwest Regional Rankings.
Jesse Bingham leads UIndy at 15.1 points per game. Supporting him is Kendrick Tchoua at 12.7 points per game.
UIndy is shooting 44.9% from the field.
