LEBANON, Ill. - McKendree University women's basketball is set to play its last regular season home games this week at the Melvin Price Convocation Center. The Bearcats face Lewis on Thursday, February 29 at 5:30 pm and Indianapolis on Saturday, March 2 at 1:00 pm. Saturday, the Bearcats will celebrate Senior Day, honoring eight seniors: Maclayne Taylor, Madyson Harper, Naomi McDaniel, Erin Golden, Christy Fortune, Kristyn Mitchell, Lauren Stolzman, and Lindsey Eimers.
McKendree sits near the top of the Great Lakes Valley Conference with a 19-7 overall record and a 15-5 record in conference play. In the Points Rating System used by the GLVC, McKendree is tied for second with Drury at 4.18 points. The Points Rating System will determine the seeding for the GLVC Tournament that will be held at Hyland Arena on the campus of Lindenwood University on March 7-10.
Lewis tops the list on the Points Rating System at 4.30 points along with an 18-8 overall record and a 17-8 conference record. The last meeting between Lewis and McKendree took place on Jan. 18 as the Bearcats came away with a 71-69 win in overtime.
Indianapolis and McKendree also gave an overtime performance in their first meeting this season when the Bearcats took the win, 95-91. The Greyhounds are 13-13 overall and 10-10 in the conference and are tied for eighth in the Points Rating System with Missouri-St. Louis.
