Box Score 2 WITCHITA FALLS, Texas – McKendree University men's tennis captured two wins on its road trip to Texas this past weekend, defeating Cameron University 4-3 and No.18 Midwestern State University Texas 5-2. The Bearcats improved to 8-1 on the season with the wins.
McKendree faced Cameron on Saturday morning and saw a tough beginning to the match as the Aggies swept the doubles matches. The Bearcats turned things around in singles play, securing four wins. Fifth-year senior Leonardo Schmitz Frederico won 6-3, 6-1 over Cameron's Louis Boilevin in the No.1 match while junior Seb Holden posted a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in the No.2 match over Martin Hlavacek. Sixth-year senior Vishnu Prasad handled the No.4 match against Alexander Post 1-6, 6-3, 6-3. Rounding out the victories for the day was fifth-year senior Lorenzo del Biondo in the No.6 match, defeating Vicente Preto 6-0, 6-4.
Against Midwestern State, McKendree fell in the three doubles matches but claimed five of the six singles matches. Schmitz Frederico bested Luis Diaz Argente 6-2, 6-4 in the No.1 match. In the No.2 match, Holden fought to a 6-2, 75-6, 6-1 win against Germano Setti. Prasad defeated Stephen Slocombe 6-3, 6-4 at the No.4 spot while sophomore Luka Kalenic grabbed a 4-6, 73-6, 10-6 win over Philip Kamara at No.5. In the No.6 match, del Biondo snagged a 6-1, 6-3 win against Justin Van Amerongen.
