ST. CHARLES, Mo. - McKendree University women's basketball is set to play in the first round of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament on Thursday, March 7 at 2:15 p.m. The tournament will take place at Hyland Arena on the campus of Lindenwood University March 7-10.
The Bearcats earned a No.2 seed after a 20-8 regular season and a 16-6 record in the GLVC. Last season, McKendree was the No.7 seed and fell to No.2 Lewis by just five points in the first round. Lewis, who earned the top seed this year, faces Missouri-St. Louis in round one at 12 p.m. on Thursday while the Bearcats and Peacocks play at 2:15 p.m.
McKendree and Upper Iowa have met twice this season and have each snagged a win against the other. In the first competition, Upper Iowa won 84-75, though the Bearcats would take a 99-95 overtime win on the road a month later. The winner of the matchup will move on to a semifinal game on Saturday, March 9 at 2:15 p.m. to play either No.3 Drury or No. 6 Rockhurst.
The entire tournament will be broadcast on the GLVC Sports Network for $10 per game, or viewers can purchase a tournament pass for $35. Tickets can be purchased at the link to the right of this article. Adult tickets will be $15, while students with a valid student ID will be $7.50.
