O'FALLON, Ill. - McKendree University men's tennis secured its sixth consecutive win on Friday afternoon with a 7-0 victory over William Jewell. The Bearcats are 12-1 overall on the season.
In doubles play, the No.1 duo of fifth-year senior Leonardo Schmitz Frederico and sophomore Bendix Schroder won 6-3 while fifth-year senior Lorenzo del Biondo and sixth-year senior Vishnu Prasad sealed their own 6-3 victory in the No.3 match.
In singles, Schmitz Frederico defeated Ugnius Bickauskis 6-2, 3-6, 10-5 in the No.1 match. For the No.2 match, junior Seb Holden won by retirement against Julien Lafranchise. Schroder grabbed a 6-2, 76-6 win against Max Quennery at the No.3 spot while Prasad recorded a 6-2, 2-6, 10-2 win over Gage Foltz in the No.4 spot. Sophomore Luka Kalenic and Cory Conley played in the No.5 match, resulting in a 6-2, 6-4 win for Kalenic. Rounding out the singles wins was del Biondo against Ian Lewis with scores of 6-3, 6-2.
Up next, the Bearcats are at home against Illinois-Springfield on Friday, April 12 and Lewis on Saturday, April 13.
