ST. LOUIS, Mo. - McKendree University men's tennis defeated Maryville University on Saturday, April 27 to close out its regular season. The Bearcats took the victory 7-0 to improve to an 16-3 overall record and a 4-1 record in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. 

In the No.1 singles matches, No. 15 ranked fifth year senior Leonardo Frederico defeated Lorenzo Biava, 6-1, 6-3. sophomore Seb Holden defeated Jose Hernandez  6-3, 6-1 in the No.2 match. In the No.3 match sophomore Bendix Schroder defeated Yann Frezouls  6-3, 6-3. The No.4 match saw sophomore Luka Kalenic defeat Sebastian Trigosso. 7-6, 6-4. Fifth year senior Lorenzo del Biondo defeated Juan Suero 6-1, 6-4. 6. Freshman Giacoma Valerga secured the singles sweep with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Tom Schmitt.  

In the doubles matches, Frederico and Schroder defeated Hernandez and Schmitt 6-3, and the No.2 match saw Kalenic and Aalpol take down Trigosso and Frezouls  7-5.   

Up next, the Bearcats await the announcement of the seeding for the GLVC tournament. The tournament will be held on May 3-5 in Springfield, Mo.
