PREVIEW: Bearcats to Open GLVC Play at Conference Newcomer

LEBANON, Ill. – Week 2 of the 2024 campaign sees the Bearcats enter GLVC play as they hit the road to GLVC newcomer, the Lincoln University Blue Tigers on Saturday. Beginning in 2024, the Blue Tigers are full members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference, but they are not unfamiliar with the conference. They were associate members of the league from 2014-18.

Great Lakes Valley Sports Network Pay-Per-View

The Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) has announced an update to the pay-per-view (PPV) pricing for regular season GLVC Sports Network (GLVCSN) livestreams, the league announced on August 15th.

Fans will have three different purchase options for regular-season broadcasts, including an individual broadcast cost of $12, a monthly pass for $25, and a full regular season GLVC package at $120 that includes the four sports listed below. The price for Championships will vary, with more details announced closer to each event.

Series History against Lincoln University

This will be the sixth contest between the Bearcats and the Blue Tigers with McKendree holding the 5-0 advantage in the series. The last contest was on November 10, 2018 in Jefferson City, Missouri with a 50-32 final.

Scouting the Bearcats

McKendree made the trek south in week 1 to battle the University of West Florida and lost 38-6. It was an Eddie Clark 3-yard run early in the 4th quarter to get McKendree on the board.

As an offense, the Bearcats had 258 total yards (196 passing) with QB Ty Michael completing 18 of 37 passes. Yogi Flager, Jr. had three catches for 51 yards. Clark carried the ball 16 times for 40 yards and the touchdown.

Scouting the Blue Tigers

Also looking for their first win of the season, the Blue Tigers traveled to Quincy in week 1 and fell by the score of 46-5. LU's scoring was a safety in the 3rd quarter and a 42-yard field goal in the final minute of the game.

In toll, the Lincoln offense only mustered 113 total yards (61 passing), while allowing 515 yards (267 passing).

Starting QB Isaiah Tate was 7 of 19 for 61 yards and was sacked once. His favorite target was Darian Fletcher who caught two passes for 45 yards.
