FULLERTON, Calif. – The Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) announced on Wednesday, October 1st, their weekly players of the week winners, with McKendree's junior attacker Armand Le Goff (Reims, France) taking the offensive side of the award.
Le Goff led the Bearcats to one of their best weekends in the past few years as they went 3-0 in the Erie Invitational Classic, marking their first three-game win streak since November 5th-6th of 2022. In the event, the junior registered 19 points, which included an abundant 14 goals and five assists. He rounded out the stat sheet with five drawn exclusions, nine steals, two field blocks, and a pair of sprint wins while shooting 60.9% at the cage.
"Armand has been a valuable leader both in and out of the water," said Head Coach Miguel Figueras. "He has made an immediate impact on our program since arriving this year. Armand has really been instrumental in helping build team chemistry. While I am sure he is honored to be named Offensive Player of the Week, he is probably more excited to room with Geno [Pecoraro] on our West Coast trip!"
The French native has built quite the resume this season, which rightfully led to the team's first player of the week honor this year and scoring the most goals in a game (8) since teammate James Ramey had eight against Mercyhurst University on October 27th, 2024. Le Goff currently leads the team in several statistical categories, including shots (59), goals (29), points (39), steals (tied – 16), field blocks (7), and sprints won (tied – 4).
Le Goff is within the top of the WWPA in total goals (9th – 29), field blocks (7), total steals (T-7th – 16), goals per game (3rd – 3.6), points per game (T-3rd – 4.9), and steals per game (3rd – 2.0).
