COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Men's volleyball junior setter Nate Flayter has been announced to serve on the USA volleyball Men's Senior National Team at the 2025 NORCECA Final Six Tournament in Puerto Rico.

Flayter is coming off winning a silver medal at the 2025 NORCECA Men's U23 Pan American Cup on Aug. 3rd under the leadership of McKendree's own men's volleyball head coach Nickie Sanlin. At the Pan American Cup, Flayter received the award of the tournament's best setter.

Going into his junior campaign, Flayter's success and potential is endless. At the end of McKendree's 2025 season, Flayter tallied up a total of 724 assists on the season, averaging an impressive 9.92 assist per set. All time, Flayter has accumulated 908 assists on his career at McKendree, just 92 shy of hitting a monumental 1,000 career assists. Flayter also is only 390 assists away from breaking the program record on total career assists, which currently sits at 1,298.

The Final Six Tournament will take place on Oct. 7th-Oct. 12th in Puerto Rico. The team will be coach by head coach Karch Kiraly who will be assisted by Luke Slabe. Kiraly is a highly decorated and experienced coach, most recently coaching the USA women's national team from Sept. 2012 to now, making the switch to men's. He coached the women's national team to a bronze medal at the 2016 Olympics, a gold medal at the 2020 Olympics, and a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics. Kiraly is also considered one of the best to ever play the game of volleyball. In his time as an athlete, Kiraly won two Olympic gold medals for indoor (1984, 1988) and one Olympic gold medal for beach (1996).
