FAYETTE, Iowa - McKendree University men's soccer moved to 8-2-3 in the league on Friday evening with a strong road win over Upper Iowa, 2-0, holding its place in the GLVC standings at third before going into the regular season finale on Sunday. McKendree set the pace early in the contest, scoring first before controlling the contest overall. The Bearcats head into the regular season finale at Quincy on November 2 at 2:30PM, looking to help its postseason case with one last bout before the conference tournament.
In a close battle early between the Bearcats and Peacocks, McKendree put the pace in its favor nearly half way through the first period. In the 22nd minute, sophomore midfielder

Paul Moodie dishing out the assist. The Bearcats held the 1-0 advantage into the intermission period.
In the second half, the Bearcats settled in and used ball control to hold the advantage deep into the second half with the visiting squad firing just two shots in the latter 45. In the 81st minute the Bearcats tacked on an insurance goal by the action of sophomore forward
Adam Reiniger, which made it a 2-0 game. Reiniger, who fired his fifth goal of the campaign in the victory, was assisted by freshman defender
Alonso Romero and Poll.
The Bearcats held off the Peacocks to claim the road win with sophomore goalkeeper
Toby Lewis getting the clean sheet and victory.
