HAYS, Kan. | FHSU Soccer Field - Eighth-seeded McKendree University men's soccer (10-6-5, 8-2-4 GLVC) clsoed out its 2025 campaign on Friday afternoon, dropping its NCAA Division II First Round matchup against the ninth-seeded UIndy Greyhounds out in Kansas and the host site at Fort Hays State University. The Bearcats struck aggressively in the first half with three goals to hold a two-score advantage in the latter half but were unable to push back a solid UIndy attack. McKendree finishes the season with a third-straight NCAA Tournament berth and a third-straight 10-plus win season. The Bearcats also tallied five All-GLVC selections as their first postseason awards of the fall.

After going down one goal in the first six minutes, the Bearcats bounced back with a hyper-aggressive attack tying the contest at 1-1 just two minutes later behind sophomore defender Philipp Muehlhans' first goal of the season. Freshman midfielder Dylan Gloviak got the assist after launching the opportunity into the Greyhounds' box. In the 16th minute, sophomore forward Adam Reiniger put McKendree on top with his seventh goal of the campaign as junior forward Lenny Dupoyet dished out the helper, making it a 2-1 affair. In the latter end of the first half, freshman forward Fredrik Thulin cut through the defense to make the game 3-1 in favor of the Bearcats with assists going out to freshman defender Alonso Romero and freshman midfielder Leo Goldschmeid.

McKendree held its 3-1 lead into the halftime intermission period while leading 11-5 in shots and 7-0 in shots on-frame. 

The second half told a different story, with the Greyhound striking twice by the 87th minute to tie the game. 

In the closing seconds, a mishap on the back line had a Greyhound shot that found the back of the net to make it a 4-3 final, against the Bearcats. McKendree's 2025 campaign came to an end in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
