#2 / No.19 Women's Soccer Caps Season in Ninth-Straight NCAA Tournament

Bearcats fall to local foe to end postseason run

LEBANON, Ill. | Leemon Field - #2 Seed and 19th-ranked McKendree University women's soccer (13-2-6, 11-1-2 GLVC) ended its season on Friday evening, falling in the opening round of the NCAA Division II National Tournament to Missouri-St. Louis, 3-0. The Bearcats closed out their 2025 campaign, capturing another GLVC regular season title and a ninth-straight NCAA Tournament run, earning their highest seed of the DII era and hosting for the first time since joing the DII ranks (2013). 

The Bearcats looked to make a splash in their first hosting weekend of the NCAA DII tournament, facing the seventh-seeded Tritons, a Great Lakes Valley Conference rival. McKendree went down part way through the first half and struggled to move the into the opposng box with six total shots and two on-frame. The Bearcats headed to half with a 1-0 deficit. 

The second half saw McKendree continue to battle, putting another pair of shots on goal with UMSL finding two more to lock up the first round upset over the Bearcats.

Sophmore forward Maddie Mauch led the offensive effort with two shots on goal while junior forward Ella Post and sophomore midfielder Perry Rogan each tallied one on-frame.
