O'FALLON, Ill. - The women's water polo team took control of things and won handily against DIII No.5 Augustana College at the McKendree Metro Rec Plex in O'Fallon, Illinois.
Score: McKendree University 11, Augustana College 6

HOW IT HAPPENED
Augustana got the game going in their favor in the early stages, jumping to a slight 2-1 lead with junior attacker Joey Rebelo (Montreal, Québec) notching the lone goal for McKendree.
With only two seconds remaining in the first quarter, fifth-year attacker Jasmin Guzman (Cicero, Ill.) fired one inside to tie the game up at two a-piece. The momentum would carry its way for the Bearcats throughout the entire second period of play, where they would tack on three more goals as Guzman and Rebelo each obtained their second goal while junior center defender Allie Diller (Grand Ledge, Mich.) got herself with one.
The Vikings began the second half of play at the 5:31 mark with their third goal of the game, still being down 3-5. Then, from there, McKendree erupted on a 6-1 run that lasted them all the way until over midway through the fourth quarter with Rebelo notching in three more goals in the process and sophomore center Bella Morquecho (Chicago, Ill.) getting two for herself.
As the final minutes of regulation were counting down, Augustana dropped in a pair more scoring possessions, but yet it would be the Bearcats to come away victorious, 11-6.
