The Bearcats closed out the NCWWC championship era with the third place finish, as the NCAA has added women's wrestling as the 91st championship sport for the 2025-26 season, while totaling three national titles (2020, 2021, 2022) and three more top-four team finishes while collecting 18 individual national titles over the NCWWC era and two more during the WCWA championships.
207 NATIONAL CHAMPION | Tristan Kelly
Kelly, after moving up to 207 from 180 earlier in the season, captured another All-American finish in her career by claiming her first individual national title by defeating Jaycee Foeller (Iowa) on a convincing 6-0 decision. She sprinted through her national championship tournament with three tech falls and two dominant decision victories, capping it off with the win over the top-seeded Foeller. Her first two matches lasted less than one minute each as Kelly defeated Lock Haven's Trinity Monaghan (10-0) and Destiny Vaughans of Greensboro College (10-0). The quarterfinal saw the two-seed Kelly face Iowa's Alivia White, who she disposed of via 10-0 tech fall before beating Lindenwood's Sara Lake in the semis. With her championship, Kelly finished the season at 14-1 overall while owning a national title, a region 6 title, and a MoBap Open belt.
