INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. | Great Lakes Valley Conference - McKendree University softball collected eight All-GLVC honors on Wednesday evening, including a unanimous First Team selection in junior shortstop Lauren Harris, as announced by the league office. Harris collects her third-straight First Team selection while each of her teammates, Sami Huck, Ellie Vetter, Sarah Roth, Morgan Spodarek, and Laynee Tapp, all earned their first postseason honors. The Bearcats began play in the Great Lakes Valley Conference championship tournament on Wednesday afternoon in East Peoria, Illinois at the EastSide Centre, pursuing an NCAA Midwest Regional berth. The fourth-seeded Bearcats' next game will be at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 1 against eighth-seeded Rockhurst in an elimination contest.

FIRST TEAM - Lauren Harris | Junior | Shortstop | Woodlawn, Ill.
Harris nabbed another unanimous selection to first team after yet another highly impressive season across the board, hitting at a .441 clip with an OPS of 1.185 in 170 at-bats. The junior shortstop sits among the conference leaders in all major statistical categories, including batting average, slugging, on-base, OPS, runs scored, hits, RBIs, and doubles. She set career marks in doubles and walks while striking out just seven times over her 170 at-bats so far (0.041 strikeout percentage / 24 at-bats per strikeout). Harris continues to add to her legacy this year, setting multiple DII program marks for the Bearcats, while pursuing more while helping lead her team. Harris was one of two unanimous All-GLVC selections in 2025.

FIRST-TIME ALL-GLVC HONOREES
Huck, Vetter, Roth, Spodarek, and Tapp are all first-time selections to the all-league teams with Roth capping her career with the honor while the other four all begin their McKendree careers with the awards. Huck and Spodarek both made their marks with All-GLVC nods at multiple positions with Huck earning pitcher and pitcher-utility honors and Spodarek, a true freshman, bringing home catcher and non-pitcher utility honors.
