LEBANON, Ill. – The Bearcats fall to the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State University in four sets to start off the McKendree Invitational Tournament on Thursday evening.
The Bulldogs completed the four-set victory over the Bearcats with scores of 26-28, 22-25, 25-20, and 23-25.
The Bearcats finished the match with a total of 48 kills. They were led by senior outside hitter Destiny Gray. She recorded 13 kills with a hitting percentage of .205%. Freshmen middle blocker Megan Bishton and freshmen opposite Avery Wuebbels added in 11 and 9 kills, respectively, to help Gray offensively. Peyton Uptgraft, a freshmen setter, tallied up 37 assists.
Senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski led the back court with 19 digs. Gray and graduate student outside hitter Emily-Kate Lonergan notched in 15 and 14 digs respectively.
Next up, the Bearcats will face the University of Minnesota Duluth tomorrow, Friday, September 5th, at 7:00 p.m. The McKendree Invitational continues at 9:00 a.m. with a match between Michigan Technological University and the University of Missouri-St. Louis.
