LEBANON, Ill. – The Bearcats continued their play in the McKendree Invitational on Friday evening with a match up against the Bulldogs of Minnesota Duluth University. The Bearcats came up short, with a final score of 0-3.
The Bulldogs completed the three-set victory over the Bearcats with scores of 21-25, 15-25, 19-25.
The Bearcats struggled offensively, finishing the match with a total of 32 kills. Senior outside hitter Destiny Gray led the way on the offensive end, recording 9 kills. Freshmen opposite Avery Wuebbels and freshmen middle blocker Megan Bishton added in 8 and 6 kills, respectively.
Gray also tallied up 9 digs, while senior libero Ashlyn Berczynski added in 8 digs to lead the Bearcats in the back court.
Next up, the Bearcats will face Michigan Technological University tomorrow, Saturday, September 6th, at 2:00 p.m. The McKendree Invitational continues at 9:00 a.m. with a match between the University of Missouri-St. Louis and Southwestern Oklahoma State University.
