BOLIVAR, Mo. – McKendree men's soccer team (6-7-3, 5-5-3 GLVC) was very efficient in the offensive half this game, only having nine shots with three of them being goals. The Bearcats came into Southwest Baptist (7-7-2, 4-7-2 GLVC) needing a win to keep their hopes of being in the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Championships alive. McKendree will end the regular season with the continuation of the game against No. 10 Lincoln earlier in the season tomorrow at 2:00 p.m.
Senior forward Lenny Dupoyet would get the scoring started just five minutes into the game with a nice run up the middle of the field and shooting a powerful shot into a bottom left corner. In the 30th minute McKendree would earn a penalty kick after a late tackle in the box. Sophomore forward Fredrik Thulin would step to the spot and bury a shot into the net to double the lead. After a quite rest of the half, McKendree would come out in the 51st minute with Thulin scoring once again off a great pass from sophomore forward Santiago Brisco.
Sophomore goalkeeper Luka Srzic would extend his shutout streak to four and had two saves.
