INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – McKendree University finished second in a closely contested Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) Commissioner's Cup standings with a total of 81.5 points the league announced on Thursday.
The Commissioner's Cup point totals are earned based on how well each athletic department finishes in the GLVC Postseason tournaments and league standings. The sports each school can get points for is baseball, men's and women's basketball, men's and women's soccer, softball, and women's indoor and outdoor track and field.
Drury University took home the cup this year with their total points finishing at 83.5, while McKendree finished just behind them at 81.5. In third was Maryville with 72.5, Indianapolis in fourth with 69 points. Missouri S&T and Missouri-St. Louis both tied for fifth with 66.5 points.
Rounding out the schools, it was Rockhurst in a close seventh with 66 points, Lewis in eighth with 54 points, and Quincy in ninth with 47.5 points. The 10-15 spots went to Illinois Springfield (46.5), Southwest Baptist and Truman State tied (39), Lincoln (36.5), William Jewell (36.25) and Upper Iowa with 31.25 points.
