Flayter Receives AVCA All-America Honorable Mention

The Junior Picks up His Second National Honor

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its 2026 National Collegiate Men's All-America Teams, with McKendree junior setter Nate Flayter (Hales Corners, Wis.) tabbing a spot on the Honorable Mention list. 

Flayter was instrumental for the Bearcats this season, as he led the squad in digs (227 total/2.1 per set) and set assists (1081 total/10.1 per set). In 107 total sets participated in, he accumulated 79 kills on a .214 percentage, 35 aces, 48 blocks (eight solo, 40 assisted) for 142.0 points. 

The Wisconsin native had three games of 50-plus set assists (season-high of 54 vs. Rockhurst University on January 31st.), nine games of 40-plus, and 12 games of 30-plus. He also finished the year with 11 outings of 10-plus digs. 

This is the second straight year Flayter has garnered AVCA postseason honors, as he made the Second Team last season. He also picked up two Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) Defensive Player of the Week honors on March 3rd and 10th to earn him a spot on the First Team All-MIVA selections.
