LEBANON, Ill. – The Bearcat Anglers have jumped five more spots in the Association of Collegiate Anglers (ACA) Bass Pro Shops School of the Year race presented by Abu Garcia, as the program currently sits solo at fourth in the May 6th standings release amongst hundreds of schools across the entire nation.
It has been a busy spring, and the Anglers have been on a roll since their 4th-place finish at Bassmaster Sam Rayburn Tournament in early March.
Heading into the Rayburn event, they were sitting in 15th place in the country. After taking a top five there, they followed that up with a 1st-place win at the Major League Fishing (MLF) Eufaula Tournament.
Then they took 29th at the ACA Bass Pro Shops Hartwell Slam and 13th at the MLF Table Rock Tournament.
From there, they headed to the Bassmaster Kerr Reservoir Tournament, where they placed 6th and had five teams finish in the top-26.
This past weekend, the program had nine teams in the top-10 at our very own McKendree Invitational.
It has really been a fun run, as this season will wrap up on May 21st-22nd with the ACA Bass Pro Shops National Championship over at Pickwick Lake in Florence, Alabama.
