FAYETTE, Iowa | Harms-Eischeid Stadium - A five-goal affair led McKendree University men's soccer (2-3-0, 1-1-0 GLVC) to its first conference win of the 2026 campaign, 5-0, while holding Upper Iowa to just one shot in the contest. Four scorers pushed the Bearcats to the victory with sophomore forward Fredrik Thulin firing two goals, with freshman midfielder Alexis Insfran (GWG), freshman midfielder Ethan Norkaitis, and sophomore defender Dylan Gloviak each firing their first collegiate goals. McKendree finally gets back to its home field on September 16 with a conference battle against Drury at 7:30PM at Leemon Field.

After suspending the contest on Wednesday at Lincoln due to weather, the Bearcats set sights on UIU, where they took hold of the contest quickly. McKendree grabbed the lead in the 16th minute as Insfran found the back of the net with assists by Thulin and senior forward Lenny Dupoyet. less than two minutes later, Thulin pushed the advantage to 2-0 as he fired his second goal of the season on the dish out by Gloviak. Gloviak then found the back of the net himself for the 3-0 lead with junior defender Philipp Muehlhans adding the helper. McKendree led 3-0 at the intermission stretch with a 9-0 shot advantage while earning six corners to UIU's zero. 

The second half saw a speeding McKendree attack continue, scoring the fourth goal in the 84th minute as Thulin found the back of the net again with sophomore defender Alonso Romero adding the assist. The final goal of the day came in the 90th minute with the freshman Norkatis capping the contest on the dish out by Thulin. 

McKendree finished the game with a 5-0 victory, firing 18 hots with nine on-frame while collecting seven corners. Graduate goalkeeper Filip Borka got the shutout with one save while holding net for full time.
