LEBANON, Ill. – McKendree anglers had its final qualifier this past weekend at Kinkaid Lake where angler Angelo Malek ended on top Saturday afternoon.
Qualifier Five | Kinkaid Lake
The team fished its fifth and final qualifier on Kinkaid Lake. Angelo Malek had five fish for 13.03 pounds for the win. Chase Logue took second with three for 11.64 and had the big bass of the day weighing in at 5.19. Third went to Ryan Foster with three for 11.60. Mason Darling placed fourth with three for 8.95. Liam Bonnett rounds out the top five with three for 8.77.

After 5 qualifiers and thirty-seven hours of bass fishing, casting competitions, knot tying, and backing, the final rankings were incredibly close. Fourth and fifth were only separated by 25/100th, and seventh and eighth were only 80/100th apart. The team will now begin traveling to compete in their fall tournaments. This week they will be fishing at the Big Bass Bash on Kentucky Lake. Next week, they will be traveling to Lake Guntersville in Alabama for the MLF (Major League Fishing) event.
