LEBANON, Ill. | Leemon Field - McKendree University men's soccer (2-6-0, 1-4-0 GLVC) took the pitch looking to rebound in conference play, battling the Greyhounds on Wednesday night, ultimately falling 2-0 to UIndy. The Bearcats went down in the first half with a pair of adversary goals and were unable to rebound in the contest. McKendree will be back on its home turf on Saturday, September 26 versus Truman State with a 2:30PM kick off at Leemon Field.
Two programs that have matched up endlessly with tightly contested results met on Wednesday night with it looking to be a similar showing for both squads. The Bearcats found a few early chances but to no avail while Indianapolis recovered with a transition attack to lead 1-0 in the 11th minute. Shortly after, in the 15th, Indy then paired a second goal to lead the Bearcats, 2-0. Shots stayed level in the first half with McKendree adding eight to UIndy's seven and shots on-goal sitting three to four.
Mckendree continued pressing forward in the second half with seven more shots but were not able to break through a stingy Hound defense and defensive third. The Bearcats dropped, 2-0, against Indianapolis to finish the latter half.
Nine Bearcats fired shots with sophomore defender
Oscar Misic leading behind four and freshman midfielder
Santiago Brisco just behind him with three. Junior goalkeeper
