SPRINGFIELD, Ill. -- The McKendree women's volleyball team fell to Illinois Springfield on Friday after three sets of play (25-21, 25-18, 25-21) at the TRAC.
The Bearcats kept the offensive pressure high throughout the match, finishing with 33 total kills in comparison to Illinois Springfield's 31. The two teams split even at seven blocks each with freshman middle blocker Ilana Reeder led with five total blocks, but McKendree held the advantage overall defensively, earning six more digs than Illinois Springfield.
The match featured a pair of milestones for the Bearcats, as sophomore right side Madelyn Clarke and freshman outside Reece Distler each surpassed 100 kills on the season. Distler earned seven kills and 11 digs, while Clarke finished with six kills, totaling 104 on the season.
Setter Peyton Uptgraft earned 20 assists and was on the leader board for digs, totaling nine. Defensive specialist Brielle Crose tallied 12 digs for the team, while Distler finished with 11.
The Bearcats will return to action tomorrow at Quincy University (Sept. 25) at 3:00 p.m.
