AS A FRESHMAN (2016): Was a member of the McKendree junior varsity program.

BEFORE McK: Batted .410 with 15 doubles, one triple and a home run as a senior at Nashville High School...was a three-time first-team All-Conference selection for the Hornets...was also a three-time All-Area honoree...helped team to a regional championship...earned Nashville's Scholastic Achievement Award. 

PERSONAL: Is the son of Joel Thorson and Any Anselment.
