Biography

AS A JUNIOR (2015): Started 42 games at shortstop...posted a .272 batting average with one home run and 13 RBI...led McKendree with 25 walks and a .414 on-base percentage...was fourth on team with 37 hits...notched nine mutli-hit games, including a three-hit outing on March 22 at Truman State...had a seven-game hit streak (March 16-28)...batted .466 when leading off an inning.

BEFORE McK: Batted .322 with a team-leading 22 walks and 42 runs scored as a sophomore at Southwestern Illinois College...had just one error in 174 chances for a .997 fielding percentage as a sophomore for the Blue Storm...was a three-time All-Conference and All-Area standout during his career at Red Bud High School...was a two-time team Most Valuable Player honoree...batted .416 with 27 runs scored and 24 stolen bases as a senior for the Musketeers.

PERSONAL: Is the son of Mike and Karen Kunkel.
