BEFORE McK: Was a third team All-Conference honoree as a sophomore for the Warriors of Granite City high School. During Smallie's sophomore season, he recorded 100 PA, 22 H, 20 1B, 2 2B, 12 RBI, 11 Runs, 16 BB, a .268 BA and .395 OBP. During his junior season, Smallie recorded 109 PA, 30 H, 27 1B, 3 2B13 RBI, 13 Runs, 6 BB, a .297 BA, and .342 OBP. As a senior, Smallie recorded 118 PA, 26 H, 20 1B, 5 2B, 1 HR, 14 RBI, 16 Runs, 11 BB, a .225 BA, and .342 OBP. Smallie was also a four-year varsity golfer, where he made two Sectional appearances; and a four-year varsity swimmer.
