Andrew Stepp was promoted to head baseball coach in the summer of 2019 after serving as the hitting and infield coach for the Bearcats after joining the staff in August of 2018. Stepp previously held positions at Murray State (OVC), Ohio University, and Western Kentucky. He played collegiately at Southwest Baptist and Western Kentucky.

2023: Finished 18-30 overall with 11-21 mark in GLVC play...tallied two All-GLVC selections in Katom Parnell and Joey Kossina...Parnell named All-Midwest second team by NCBWA while Kossina named second team All-Midwest by D2CCA...third-straight season with postseason honors for the Bearcats...grabbed back-to-back double-digit win GLVC seasons...

2022: Finished with third-most wins in NCAA DII era...first .500-or-above GLVC season (joined in 2013) at 15-13...battered program record for homeruns with 95 in 47 games...best overall winning percentage since 2013 season at .426...two All-GLVC performers with Corey Price (first team) and Joseph Copeland (second team)...two All-Midwest selections for NCBWA (honorable mention) and D2CCA (second team) in Copeland and Alex Steinbach...Price named ABCA All-Midwest second team...Steinbach signed with AAPB's Lincoln Saltdogs

2021: Went 14-26 overall...swept Parkside in non-conference matchup...grabbed seven GLVC victories with four series-opening wins...coached Ryan Hutchinson to All-GLVC second team with a .366 average and and OPS of 1.096...team hit at a slash of .287/.367/.432...

2020: COVID-shortened spring season in first year at the helm...finished 6-9 overall and 2-1 in the GLVC...won series against Hillsdale and Maryville prior to season's end...


In 2018, Stepp was on the staff at Murray State University as an assistant coach. He assisted with all facets of the Racers’ offensive game and was also responsible for base running and outfield development. Stepp’s efforts helped in part to Murray State’s qualification into the 2018 Ohio Valley Conference Tournament.
 
Before his time at Murray State, Stepp served as the director of baseball operations and player development at another NCAA Division I institution, Ohio University. There, he was responsible for handling all aspects of the Bobcats’ travel and budgetary requirements. Stepp also worked with hitters and infielders at Ohio.
 
From 2014-16, Stepp was a student assistant coach at his alma mater, Western Kentucky University. In addition to serving as the Hilltoppers’ bullpen coordinator, Stepp assisted the program’s director of baseball operations. A native of Nixa, Mo., Stepp played two seasons as an infielder at Western Kentucky. He began his collegiate playing career at Southwest Baptist University.
 
Stepp and his wife, Lauren, reside in Lebanon with their daughter and two dogs.
