Logan Moose comes to McKendree after spending the last two seasons, 2021 and 2022, at Henderson State in Arkadelphia, Arkansas as a graduate assistant, primarily working as the pitching coach.
While Moose was on staff, the Reddies won the 2021 Great American Conference (GAC) tournament, making it to the semifinals of the NCAA DII Central Regional. During the 2022 season, Henderson State finished as runner-up in the GAC tournament, earning an at-large bid to the Central Regional where the Reddies made the regional championship game. Moose was instrumental to the Reddies' 2021 GAC Championship season, helping develop All-GAC First Teamer and GAC Tournament MVP Spencer Taack, as well as a pitching staff that boasted a 5.20 ERA for the spring. As the pitching coach, the former collegiate hurler handled all throwing and lifting programs for the HSU pitching staff while additional handling the pitcher-catcher relationships and strategies for the Reddies. Under the direction of Moose, the staff posted a 5.00 ERA with 406 strikeouts and held opposing batteries to a .247 average in 2022. The Reddies' hurler staff was no stranger to accolades either with two All-GAC First Team pitchers this season with Spencer Taack and Brayden Bee. Taack was also named All-Region this spring.Â
While Moose was at the helm of the pitching staff, the Reddies set the single season record for strikeouts with 406 this year and marked the second most shutouts in HSU history with six in 2022. The staff also owned the best ERA in conference entering postseason play, which allowed for the HSU to obtain its first-ever 40-win season and first-ever back-to-back NCAA tournament bids.Â

Moose began his collegiate baseball career at Truman State prior to transferring to Metropolitan Community College – Longview. After one year at Longview, Moose transferred to Northwest Missouri State where he received his Bachelor's degree in Business Marketing and Business Administration. Moose played baseball at all three of his schools, taking up position on the mound as a right-handed hurler. He has also worked with Driveline Academy to obtain experience in training of younger athletes with throwing, lifting, and hitting programs while earning his certification in pitch design. Moose also served as a youth baseball coach in Kansas City, Missouri for Intensity Athletic.Â
