Marshall Vallandingham joined the McKendree University baseball coaching staff in August 2017. Vallandingham will be an assistant for the Bearcats.
Vallandingham brings valuable coaching experience from the St. Louis area to the Bearcats' staff. He served on the staff for the St. Louis Pirates and Rick Strickland Baseball programs. He was a hitting instructor who organized all winter training, coaching players from ages 8-18. Vallandingham also organized practice plans and in-game strategies for the group, and also coached all defensive positions.Â
In the spring of 2015, Vallandingham served on the staff for Southwestern Illinois College, where he worked with the Blue Storm's hitters and infielders.Â
Vallandingham began his colleigate playing career at Southwestern Illinois, where he was a first-team All-Conference selection in 2011 and 2012. He moved on to Illinois State University and later Lindenwood University, where he grabbed All-Conference accolades for the Lions in 2014.Â
Vallandingham earned his bachelor's degree in history from Lindenwood in 2015. He currently resides in Mascoutah.Â
