Biography

2014 SEASON: Sat out season as a red-shirt.

AS A SOPHOMORE (2013): Pitched in five games with four starts...posted a 1-2 record with a 2.95 earned-run average...was second among McKendree starters in ERA...limited right-handed batters to a .172 average.

AS A FRESHMAN (2012): Pitched in 10 games with nine starts...had a 3-4 record with a 6.48 ERA..was tied for second on the team in victories and was fourth in innings pitched at 41 2/3...finished fourth on squad with 24 strikeouts...allowed opponents a .273 batting average, which was the second-lowest total for a McKendree pitcher...notched his only complete game and shutout in the same contest, a 3-0 triumph over Mid-Continent on March 31...allowed just two hits in that outing.

BEFORE McK: Racked up 107 strikeouts in 56 innings of work as a senior at New Athens High School...was second in the St. Louis-metro area in total strikeouts...went 5-4 with a 2.38 ERA as a senior for the Yellow Jackets...registered four complete games...also hit .528 with three home runs and 23 RBI...nabbed All-Area honors as a senior.

PERSONAL: Is the son of Vince and Tammy Kiefer.
