2019 SEASON: Collected honorable mention All-Great Lakes Valley Conference accolades...posted 42 tackles with 16 solos...opened the season with a career-high nine stops at Northern Michigan on Sept. 7...led team with five quarterback sacks, including consecutive games with two sacks against Lindenwood on Oct. 5 and at Wheeling on Oct. 12...also led McKendree with five quarterback pressures...added one forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

2018 SEASON: Grabbed honorable mention All-Conference honors from the Great Lakes Valley Conference...was fourth on team with 57 tackles, which included 36 solos...led team with nine tackles for loss...added a pair of quarterback sacks...had a career-best seven tackles at Quincy on Sept. 29 and also at home versus Missouri S&T on Nov. 3...added two pass break-ups, a forced fumble and fumble recovery. 

2017 SEASON: Appeared in 10 games as a reserve linebacker...had 15 tackles, including nine solos...had a season-high three stops at William Jewell on Sept. 23 and at Missouri S&T on Oct. 21...registered 2 1/2 tackles for loss...broke up two passes against Kentucky State on Sept. 9...registered quarterback sacks against Kentucky State and versus Missouri S&T. 

2016 SEASON: Was a redshirt for the Bearcats. 

BEFORE McK: Played as a linebacker and tight end at Simeon Academy…registered 19 sacks as a senior…led team with 26 sacks as a junior…also excelled as a wrestler for the Wolverines.

PERSONAL: Is the son of Rodney Purnell and April Purnell.
