Jordan Quertermous joined the McKendree University football coaching staff in the spring of 2018. Quertermous serves as a graduate assistant for the Bearcats. After coaching defensive backs in his first season with the program, Quertermous shifts to the offensive side of the ball in 2019 to guide the Bearcats' wide receivers.
In 2018, Quertermous coached two of the Bearcats' leading tacklers in Blake Benoist and Jason Bennett, Jr. Benoist wrapped up his McKendree career by finishing second on the squad with 70 tackles, including 35 solos. Benoist added one interception which helped seal the Bearcats' first win of the year at home against Northern Michigan on his way to second-team All-Great Lakes Valley Conference mention. Bennett was close behind with 56 stops while he led the team with a pair of interceptions.
Quertermous comes to McKendree after spending the 2017 season as a student assistant coach at his alma mater, Knox College. While at Knox, Quertermous handled duties as the Prairie Fire's video coordinator. He also assisted with the planning of practice, helped with travel logistics and was a coach for the offensive line.
A four-year letterman for the Knox football team, Quertermous was a three-year starter along the Prairie Fire's offensive line. He also served as a team co-captain while at Knox. Quertermous, a native of Eldorado, Ill., graduated from Knox with a degree in psychology in 2018.
