Kai Ross enters his second season with McKendree in 2024 as the Defensive Backs Coach and Recruiting Coordinator after serving as the Safeties Coach at Saddleback College in the Spring of 2023, who was part of the Orange Empire Conference. Prior to working at Saddleback College, Ross spent two seasons at Huntington Beach High School as the Quarterbacks and Defensive Backs Coach (2017-19).
Ross began his collegiate career as Quarterback at Cal Poly from 2014-15, then transferred to Saddleback College in 2015 where he played Defensive Back. Ross took a break from playing football to coach then went back to conclude his collegiate career at Lindenwood University (2020-22), where he earned many awards including First Team All-GLVC (2021) and CoSIDA Academic All-American 2nd Team (2021-22). In his last season at Lindenwood, he was the team captain and was awarded Preseason All-OVC Safety (2022).
Ross earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Historical Studies in the Spring of 2022 from Lindenwood University.
